In a shocking case, a woman was arrested in California for throwing away a bag full of puppies next to a roadside garbage bin which was behind a store. Security footage from cameras installed at the store show the woman getting out of a Jeep carrying a bag.
According to NDTV, the Riverside County Animal Services said in a Facebook post that the incident happened in Coachella on Thursday. Where security footage from surveillance cameras installed at the store shows the woman getting out of a Jeep and carrying a bag. The woman can then be seen walking towards a dumpster (garbage bin) and tossing the bag next to it. Soon following that, she drives away.
"Shortly after the incident, a passerby, named John, was passing by the trash and noticed the bag and brought it into the Napa store. If not for the Good Samaritan's actions, the puppies may not have survived much longer," said Riverside County Animal Services in its Facebook post.
They also shared a video of the puppies and the woman. Further Fox News reported that, there were seven puppies inside the bag and all were three-days-old. Seems like they were believed to be terrier mixes.
As soon as this incident and the video spread on social media, people demanded strict action against the woman. Soon then she was identified as Deborah Sue Culwell, who was later arrested on grounds of animal cruelty.
In an update posted this morning, Riverside County Animal Services said that Deborah Sue Culwell was arrested in connection with the incident. While all the puppies survived the incident and are now being cared for by a rescue shelter in Orange County.
