Edward Snowden, a former CIA contractor who exposed the US National Security Agency's internet and phone surveillance a few years ago, re-tweeted a journalist’s response to a report on the breach of the Aadhaar database in India adding that "It is the natural tendency of government to desire perfect records of private lives. History shows that no matter the laws, the result is abuse."
