DECADE'S LARGEST OBJECT FALLS ON EARTH UNCONTROLLABLY FROM SPACE; DETAILS HERE
Home > News Shots > WorldA large body of a Chinese rocket that was launched last week, to orbit the earth, became the largest junk to return to our atmosphere, on Monday. A huge space junk landed on earth, as it fell uncontrollably.
On May 05, a prototype crew capsule that resembles a SpaceX Crew Dragon was launched for testing. Its mission was to orbit the earth. After almost one full week of orbiting, the core of the large rocket, re-entered Earth. The bits that fell, did not burn up completely and it made a huge fall into the Atlantic Ocean, near West Africa, according to the U.S. Military.
“It is the most massive object to make an uncontrolled re-entry since the 39-tonne Salyut- in 1991,” wrote Jonathan McDowell, an astrophysicist from Harvard who tracked the orbit, on Twitter. Often times, larger space objects are equipped with means to re-enter the earth, into a safe location. However, this vehicle was not equipped to do the same.

The recent information from the military states that those objects which re-entered are likely to have wound up in the ocean. However, this report can only be confirmed if any debris turns up onshore. Further, no reports state any injury to humans, or property from a mass that fell from the sky.
