CORONA ALERT: CHINA CAUTIONS WORLD ABOUT NEW CHANGES IN CORONA VIRUS! - REPORT
Home > News Shots > WorldChinese doctors have noticed that the Coronavirus has manifested differently among patients who tested positive for the virus in new cluster of cases that erupted in the northeast region. They note that the characteristics of the virus is different from how it was during the onset of the outbreak in Wuhan. They say this is suggestive of the fact that the virus might be changing in unknown ways.
The patients who tested positive recently, are reportedly carrying the virus for a longer period of time and it is also taking longer time to test negative.
Asymptomatic cases have been problematic since the beginning of the outbreak. However, patients also seem to be taking more than two weeks to develop symptoms, which was not the case when the pandemic started.
Qiu Haibo, one of China's top critical care doctors, told state television on Tuesday that "the longer period during which infected patients show no symptoms has created clusters of family infections,"
However, even scientists are not able to confirm that these are new changes. Some attribute it to the fact that this time doctors have the opportunity to observe patients more thoroughly from an earlier stage as compared to Wuhan.
The findings however affirm that there is uncertainty around how the virus changes and this might create problems for governments’ efforts to re-open their economies.
Doctors continue to probe further into the observations and findings.
