Yes smartphones are an addiction. What is meant to help us communicate with long distance relationships, has become our go-to gadget for almost all daily activities. Children are most likely the ones who turn addicts. But in this case, it's the other way round.
Children in Hamburg, Germany seem to have had enough with their parents' addiction to smartphones. According to a report in DW News, children in the city came out on streets to protest against excessive use of smartphones by their parents.
The children at the protest were seen chanting slogans that meant "We are here, we are loud because you are just looking at your mobile phones."
A 7-year-old boy named Emil has become the leader of the children's movement. "I hope that after the demonstration people will spend less time on their mobile phones," he was quoted as saying.

Experts believe that smartphone addiction among parents can lead to behavioural problems in their children. The lack of attention or care can lead to whining, hyperactivity or frustration, claim experts.
The children came out in huge numbers, with hoarding and chanting slogans that urged parents to stay away from smartphones. "Play with me, not with your smartphones," was the message the children had for their parents.
