A dangerous storm hit southern Oregon and northern California which the meteorologists call a "Bomb Cyclone". Reportedly it is the intensifying winter storm caused by a precipitous drop in atmospheric pressure.
"The drop typically creates violent weather that arrives like a bomb going off," Oregonian Newspaper quoted. The storm has placed tens of thousands of people who had Thanksgiving holiday plans stranded in their homes. Reportedly, the wind clocked at 155 Kms per hour (93 Miles) in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The Hurricane-force begins at 74 mph.
"This storm threatens to bring rain and mountain snow to much of California including places like San Francisco and Sacramento, places that were largely spared by the past week's rain," Accuweather senior metrologist Brian Thompson was quoted as saying by the reports.
