VIDEO: WEEKS AFTER A DEADLY BLAST, MASSIVE FIRE BREAKS OUT IN BEIRUT'S PORT - PANIC GRIPS CITY!
Home > News Shots > WorldJust weeks after a massive blast that claimed more than 200 lives, a huge fire broke out in Beirut's port today at the same site laid waste in the capital city.
In a statement, the Lebanese army said that the cause of the fire has not been immediately clear, but the fire began at a warehouse where oil and tires were kept in the port's duty-free market.
Currently, efforts are underway to extinguish the fire, with helicopters dousing the flames and fire tankers at the spot. There are few videos on social media showing a warehouse engulfed in flames and a large plume of black smoke rising into the sky.
According to CNN reports, Beirut's port is Lebanon's main lifeline with the outside world. It was obliterated in last month's blast and the city is still getting over the shock till date.
Last month, an explosion of nearly 3,000 tons of ammonium nitrate shattered the capital on August 4, that took more than 190 people's lives and injured more than 6,000.
