Women dies of ‘monkey fever’

According to reports, a 45-year-old woman named Gulabi Gawas in Goa died of monkey fever on Tuesday. Gawas was admitted to the Goa Medical College five days ago with a high fever. She reportedly died due to “acute respiratory distress syndrome.” Also known as Kyasanur Forest Disease,  is a tick-borne viral hemorrhagic fever endemic to South Asia.
