Woman asked to pay $500,000 over false Facebook

A woman in North Carolina was ordered by a Federal judge to pay a compensation of $500,000 for writing a Facebook post falsely accusing her former friend of killing her son. According to reports, a woman in the name of Jacquelyn Hammond wrote on the Facebook account of her friend Davyne Dial, "I didn't get drunk and kill my kid." But Ms. Dial who claimed to have nothing to do with her son's death sued Ms. Hammond for defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress.
