The BJP after its huge win in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand is in a position to appoint its own candidate as President of India with the support of AIADMK and Biju Janata Dal. However, there is no final decision taken among the party members but Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reportedly proposed LK Advani’s name several times in the party meeting. Notably, the new President will be elected after Pranab Mukherjee retires in July.
