WhatsApp likely to launch P2P payment services in India

Facebook-owned messaging service provider WhatsApp is reportedly in plans to launch a peer-to-peer payment system in India. According to reports, the system will be powered by the Unified Payments Interface to drive the company's digital transaction initiative in the country. Notably, WhatsApp has around 200 million active users in India, out of total 1.2 billion active users across the globe.
