Retired Indian batsman VVS Laxman on Wednesday backed the centre’s decision to not participate in bilateral cricket series between India and Pakistan. Stating that he enjoyed playing against Pakistan, Laxman said, “it is very important to respect whatever the government's decision is because it is beyond sport at the moment.” Further, Laxman stated that he was in consonance with Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel’s claim that sports and terrorism cannot go hand in hand.
