MDMK Chief Vaiko is reportedly observing a dawn-to-dusk “Maun Vrat” in his cell at Puzhal Central Jail near Chennai, in memory of his late father Vaiyapuri. He has been silent since 6 am and has not taken even water, say reports, adding he will continue to be so till six in the evening. Vaiko has been continuing the practice every year since his father passed away on April 5, 1973.
