The government of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday reportedly denied permission to the Allahabad High Court to try Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the 2007 Gorakhpur riots case. Notably, a case was registered against Adityanath and three others for inciting communal violence. However, the law states that the sanction to start prosecution in such cases has to be granted by the state government.
