UP government scraps 15 public holidays

Yogi Adityanath's government on Tuesday reportedly scrapped 15 public holidays from the annual holiday calendar. Most of the scrapped holidays are the birth and death anniversary of eminent personalities. However, the government has advised its employees, schools, and colleges to organize a special program to commemorate the occasion of the person concerned. Notably, UP had 42 public holidays in its calendar year before this order.
