The 17th Legislative Assembly in Uttar Pradesh will host as many as 38 women MLAs,  making it the highest in Indian history. This comes after around 96 women candidates were given tickets to contest the election. Notably, BJP allotted tickets to 43 women candidates in which 32 emerged victorious.
