US President Donald Trump has reportedly appointed Lt Gen HR McMaster as his national security adviser. Trump has chosen McMaster after his first choice, retired Vice Admiral Robert Harward, turned down the role citing “personal reasons”. HR McMaster, a lieutenant general in the US Army, served in Iraq and Afghanistan on a government anti-corruption drive.
