The Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety on Tuesday reportedly announced that Tamil Nadu accounted for more than 17,000 fatal road accidents in 2016. According to reports, this is 10 percent increase from 2015. By this figure, Tamil Nadu had registered nearly 50 deaths a day in road accidents. Notably, the committee has also asked the state government to introduce adequate safety measures.
