Popular mobile messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new feature to give group administrators more control over the group where they will be allowed to restrict other members from sending text messages, photographs, GIFs, documents or videos. The “Restricted group” setting can be activated by the group admin and members will have “message admin” option to get the admins approval to post a message or share media on the group. Reports suggest the beta version has been submitted and the feature will soon be available to all users.
