Messaging platform WhatsApp will delete data from Google Drive that hasn't been updated in more than a year. You have time till November 12 to update back up, after which any back up that hasn't been updated since a year will be deleted.
An official statement reads, "starting November 12, 2018, WhatsApp backups will no longer count towards the Google Drive storage quota."
This new development will help free up storage space from the phone and at the same time not occupy any space in the Google Drive.
