WhatsApp disappoints users on New Year’s midnight

Popular messaging app WhatsApp suffered outage for several minutes past midnight into the New Year. While the app was down in India for some time, people from other countries also complained of outages on social media. WhatsApp reportedly issued an apology and said that the issue had been resolved immediately.
