As the primary initiative to step into 5G technology, Chinese telecom gear maker Huawei has deployed India's first artificial intelligence (AI) based pre-5G technology on Vodafone Idea network. Reportedly, it is the third world largest MIMO deployment.
It is said that the AI-based massive MIMO (multiple-input and multiple-output) network will increase the user experience three times within the same set of the spectrum. By this means, the 4G network on Vodafone Idea will run 5G technology. Vishant Vora, Vodafone Idea Ltd Chief Technology officer claimed that a consistent effort has been made to provide next-generation technologies which would enhance the capacity and efficiency of their network.
"Adding AI capabilities to India's largest deployment of massive MIMO for enhancing user experience is a further testament of our commitment towards creating a future-proof network for the digital era," Vishant was quoted as saying by News 18.
Reportedly Vodafone Idea network has been known as India's largest massive MIMO deployment. The Huawei India CEO, Jay Chen was quoted as saying, "We are delighted to partner with Vodafone Idea Limited in making them ready for the 5G-led future. The deployed solution will enable Vodafone Idea to enhance their pre-5G massive MIMO network"
