WhatsApp has rolled out new features for Groups on Android and iOS apps and has given more control for group admins. The ‘Group Description’ feature lets users add the description for the group, which will show when a new member is added to the group. All the members of the group can see the description and can make changes to it.
In Settings, group admins are given control over who can change the group’s subject, icon, and description. A ‘Group catch up’ feature allows users to quickly track the conversations, where they get mentions or replies, by touching the ‘@’ button, which appears on the bottom-right corner of the chat.
Group members can search for other participants of the group in the group info page. Group admins can remove other admins of the group. However, the creators of the groups can no longer be removed from the groups they created. Importantly, participants who leave the groups cannot be repeatedly added.
