Facebook-owned photo-sharing platform Instagram has reportedly planned to launch a stand-alone app called ‘Direct’, which will offer private messaging to its users. When a user installs Direct, the inbox will disappear from the Instagram app and can only be accessed in the new messaging app. The application will be Facebook’s third stand-alone messaging application after WhatsApp and Messenger.
