According to a study published in the journal of Developmental Psychology, children spend less time reading and sleeping when they have a TV in their bedroom. The study also reportedly said such behaviour may lead to poor grades as well as increased risk of obesity and videogame addiction. Douglas Gentile, professor at the Iowa State University in the US, reportedly said, “Putting a TV in the bedroom gives children 24-hour access and privatises it in a sense, so as a parent you monitor less and control their use of it less”.
