Tech giant Apple is all set to open an online store for the first time in India next month (September). Apple which currently sells its iPhones in India through e-commerce platforms is all set to open its maiden online store soon.
As per an Economic Times report, Apple's online store will be opening with the festive season or during Diwali which is also when buyers spend the most on electronics and gadgets in the country.
Amid the relaxation in the country, the Centre said that retail trading through e-commerce can be undertaken prior to opening of brick and mortar stores, subject to the condition that companies open brick and mortar stores within two years from date of start of online retail, ET further reported.
However, the tech major is also looking to set up a second brick-and-mortar store in India's IT city Bengaluru. Apple's outlet at the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai is all set to be its first physical store in India.
