A team of central government officials arrived in Chennai on Saturday, after Tamil Nadu CM O Panneerselvam’s meeting PM Narendra Modi on January 16 over the appointment of a team to assess the drought situation in the state. According to reports, the team will reportedly visit drought-hit areas to study the extensive damage caused to agriculture crops and to take stock of the drinking water scarcity in Tamil Nadu.
