The Chief Election Commissioner of India, Nasim Zaidi, on Wednesday, revealed that tamper-detect Electronic Voting Machines, which automatically become dysfunctional if opened or meddled with, will be used in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Further, Zaidi also added that the production of the third generation M3 EVMs will start from August at Electronics Corporation of India and Bharat Electronics Limited plants, and will be completed by September 2018.
