Lemons have been auctioned for Rs 69,000 at a Murugan temple in Villupuram district. This incident has taken many by surprise.

Ottanandal village is located near Thiruvennainallur in Villupuram district. The Rathinavel Murugan Temple is very famous. The 11-day Panguni Uttara festival at the temple started with a flag hoisting on the 9th. For the first 9 days of the festival, lemon juice will be sprinkled daily on the fence of the temple.
Auction
On the eleventh day of the festival, 9 lemons pierced on the fence of the temple will be put up for auction. The temple priest held the auction to stand on top of the colony made of nails. Each of these lemons went under the hammer for thousands. Finally, 9 lemons were auctioned off and it was announced that the temple had received Rs. 69,100. It is noteworthy that these lemons were auctioned for Rs. 1,43,000 at last year's auction.
