Edirkottai village is located near Sattur in Virudhunagar district. This unusual event is said to have taken place during the wedding of Navaneethan, the son of the Suburaj-Muthulakshmi.
Navaneethan, who works in a private company in Chennai after studying Thermal Engineering, and Anita from Inam Meenakshipuram got married yesterday at Edirkottai.

During the wedding, Navaneethan's friends entered the wedding hall with plates in their hands which had books in it.
200 books
Navaneethan - Anita's friends have gifted the couple more than 200 books worth about Rs 25,000 on their wedding day. The video of Navaneethan's friends marching in procession carrying books on a plate is now going virally on social media.
Usually, according to the Indian tradition, the bride presents the groom with a series of items that he uses everyday at home. However, the incident in which his friends gave the groom more than 200 books in a row has taken everyone by surprise.
Navaneethan - Anita's guests from their wedding said that we can create an advanced society by gifting powerful books that can change the minds and thoughts of human.
The practice of giving books as gifts for weddings has increased in Tamil Nadu in recent times.
