Amala (age 60) lives on Govindarajan Street, Kodambakkam, Chennai. He contacted the police control room and complained that his son Satish Kumar had locked himself in the room and was harassing him. Following this, Kodambakkam Police Station Chief Constable Perumal and Constable Selvaganesh rushed to the spot.
During the interrogation, it was revealed that Satish Kumar had locked his mother Amala and his sister's baby in a room of the house. Police have held talks with Satish Kumar in this regard. It is said that Satish Kumar, who then attacked Chief Constable Perumala, spoke inappropriate words. This caused a stir in the area.
Meanwhile, police rescued Amala and the baby who were locked inside the room. Following this, the police arrested Satish Kumar on the basis of a complaint lodged by Amala and two policemen. He was later produced in court and remanded in custody.
Chennai Police Commissioner Shankar Jiwal personally congratulated Kodambakkam Police Chief Constable Perumal and Constable Selvaganesh for rescuing the elderly woman and child.
