Revenue Commissioner Ravi has issued section 144 ban for a month in Chidambaram, Cuddalore district.
Nataraja Temple is located in Chidambaram, Cuddalore district. This world famous temple has a Kanaka Sabha called 'Tiruchirambala Medai'. Prior to the Sami darshan, the public was allowed to climb on it.
Denial of permission
After the Corona period, the public was denied permission to stand on the Kanaka Sabha and perform Sami darshan for security reasons. Thereafter, only VIPs were allowed to visit Nataraja on the Kanaka Sabha. It seems that the general public were struggling to stand on the council and perform Sami darshan.
Law and order problem
A total of section 144 ban have been imposed banning political parties, Bhakta Assemblies and other protest groups from holding protests in Chidambaram amid protests by various quarters to allow all people to stand on the Kanaka Sabha and perform Sami darshan at the Nataraja temple. It is informed that the Tamil Nadu Government is consulting with legal experts regarding the darshan of Kanaka Sabha.

Revenue Commissioner Ravi has issued 144 restraining orders at the Cuddalore Chidambaram Temple from today for a month pending a decision from the Government as it is yet to consider the matter.
Kottachiyar's 144 ban has been widely reported to be viral, citing problems at the Chidambaram Nataraja Temple, the main temple in Tamil Nadu.
