A 35-year-old man who reportedly damaged the windshield of a TNSTC bus in March, 2016 was sentenced to three years in jail after he confessed to the crime. The youth who was travelling in a Trichy-bound bus from Chatram refused to pay for the ticket when the conductor asked him for money. Later when the conductor asked him to deboard the bus, he reportedly took a stone from his bag and broke the windshield. The driver filed a complaint in police station based on which the youth was arrested last year. So far he has served 18 months in jail and will reportedly serve the remaining sentence.
