One Julie, a native of Salem, was reportedly tortured by the family of her husband, demanding dowry.They also forced her to leave the house. Unable to bear the harassment, Julie fell at the feet of Salem District Collector Rohini Bidari and tearfully expressed her anguish. The collector has instructed the police to look into Julie's complaint and has promised to take action.
