CHENNAI: 23-YEAR-OLD YOUNG WOMAN BREAKS LEG AS POLICE JUMPS IN FRONT OF SCOOTER

In a shocking and horrifying case, a 23-year-old woman broke her leg after she suddenly jammed breaks on the main road to avoid dashing into a policeman. After she fell down, she was hit by a running lorry that was behind her near Red Hills.
The woman has been identified as K. Priya of Solai Amman Nagar in Sholavaram. She was travelling home from Red Hills when the incident took place.
According to Times Of India, the incident took place at around 8:00 pm on Friday. Priya was nearing the Gandhi Nagar Police booth which is two kilometers from Red Hills when a policeman noticed that she was not wearing a helmet and he suddenly jumped in front of her to stop her.
In fraction on seconds, the woman lost balance and fell off her scooter. Meanwhile, a lorry which was coming behind her could not stop in time and ran over her right leg, ToI further reported.
With the help of locals, the woman was rushed to Government Stanley Medical College and Hospital where she has been admitted in the ICU.
Meanwhile the police were informed, they rushed to the spot where angry locals of a village close to the accident site damaged the lorry's windshield and set fire to bike of Tamil Nadu's Home Guard member, who was part of the police member check team.
The locals had also blocked the Red Hills-Tiruvallur Road for more than an hour. Further investigations are on in this matter.
