Metrowater reportedly announced that there’s enough water storage to meet the drinking needs of Chennai city people. Reports say, the city received 20 percent excess rainfall in 2017 when compared to 2016. According to TOI reports, an official said the Veeranam lake which supplies water to the city is full and the groundwater table across the city has also risen.
