A by-election in RK Nagar will be conducted on December 21 for which all the major parties have been campaigning in the constituency aggressively. Tuesday being the last day for campaigning, DMK’s working president MK Stalin walked down the streets of the costituency and travelled in an open vehicle. During one such instance, he met AIADMK’s Madhusudhanan, who is also contesting in RK Nagar. But what the duo did was something unexpected. Madhusudhanan folded his hands in a respectful ‘Vanakkam’ and MK Stalin responded with a ‘Vanakkam’. The constituency has been remaining vacant since the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
