Following the controversy that arose when Vijayendra Saraswathi, the junior head of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam remained seated when the ‘Tamizh Thaai Vaazhthu’ was played, Kamal Haasan was quoted as saying that it is his duty to stand while the ‘Tamizh Thaai Vaazhthu’ is played whereas it is the duty of Vijayendra Saraswathi to meditate. Seeman, chief coordinator the Naam Tamilar Katchi lashed out in response to Kamal Haasan’s statement asking whether Kamal Haasan was meditating while corruption was happening.
