A 19-year-old woman was allegedly pushed off the train by a co-passenger on Wednesday while boarding the Howrah express in Ennore. Reportedly, the woman was stepping into the unreserved compartment and fell after losing her balance as a man pushed her. The people waiting at the platform and the RPF tried to rescue her, but she fell under the wheels of the train. According to media reports, a doctor travelling in the same train declared the woman dead. The police arrested the man who pushed her. Later they let him free after recording the woman's death was unnatural and stated that it is an accident. Reportedly, hearing this, passengers protested outside the railway station's RPF, and a few turned violent and attacked the police station. No one was injured during the attack.
