It has been 7 days since Vijay rocked the stage at the Bigil Audio Launch and his fans trended 3rd social tag "SaveTheniFromNEUTRINO" on twitter. On July 11 2019, the Union Minister of State Dr Jitendra Singh confirmed the centre's approval to build the neutrino observatory at Pottipuram in Theni. The project is undertaken by the India-based Neutrino Observatory (INO) that primarily aims to study atmospheric neutrinos.

Neutrinos are very difficult to detect and it can be dangerous while it passes through your body without any side effects. Environmental activists in Theni protested against the move and one of the environmental movements, Poovulagin Nanbargal strongly opposed the construction of the project as Theni is an ecologically sensitive area and the project could cause many environmental issues for the people.

While the activists are extremely concerned over the radiation that would destroy the lives of people, the recent developments indicate the active progress in the construction of the Neutrino project in Theni.
