According to reports, a motor vehicle inspector has reportedly been arrested in Omalur near Salem on Monday for receiving bribes for ‘fancy’ registration number for a vehicle. 36-year-old Jaffer Sathik Ali from Omalur approached the inspector Sivakumar for a fancy registration number for his newly bought bullet vehicle. The 45-year-old inspector reportedly demanded a bribe from Jaffer. Jaffer informed the anti-corruption bureau and the police caught Sivakumar when he received Rs 3,800 as bribe, reports added.
