After the self-immolation of a family at Tirunelveli collectorate, a lot of people have tried to commit suicide for the issue of usury. A couple from Kadalur reportedly tried to commit suicide by consuming poison at Kadalur collectorate, as they were unable to pay the interest on the loan that they had taken.
