To stop illegal cattle transportation and monitor their health, the department of Information Network for Animal Productivity and Health has selected Coimbatore to run as a pilot project to provide a unique identification number to each cattle. The unique identification number will be updated on an online database, and a yellow tag containing 12 digit number would be fixed in the earlobe of cattle. The veterinary doctors will fix the tag and maintain a health card with the identification number of cattle.
