TWO STRETCHES OF METRO OPENED IN CHENNAI TODAY

Two new underground stretches of the Chennai Metro Rail connecting from Chennai Central to Airport and Little Mount to DMS was inaugurated on Friday.
The stations were inaugurated by CM Edappadi K Palaniswami and Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Housing And Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri. Reportedly, other ministers, including deputy CM O Paneerselvam present at the venue.
The new metro stations will increase the maximum fare by Rs 10. While the maximum fare used to Rs 60, the longest journey from Central to Airport will now cost Rs 70. The frequency of the trains will also be increased.
