Chennai district electoral officer Karthikeyan on Wednesday said that some VVPAT machines attached with the Electronic Voting Machines are being replaced as they did not work properly. Further, the EVMs and the VVPAT (Voter-verified paper audit trail) machines with malfunctions will be replaced as soon as possible, he said. Moreover, voters who want to cast their vote need to enter the premises of polling booths before 5 pm, Karthikeyan added.
