TN RECOMMENDS MEMBER FOR CAUVERY WATER MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

On Friday, the Centre constituted the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CMA) as directed by the Supreme Court. CMA will manage the Cauvery water dispute between Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Pondicherry. According to reports, CMA will be headed by a chairman, two full-time members and as many part-time members.
Each state is to contribute a member to the Cauvery Management Authority. Tamil Nadu announced its recommendation for the member on Saturday.
Reportedly, the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu Public Works Department, SK Prabakar was recommended as a member of CMA. Chief Engineer, Water Resource Department of the PWD, R Senthil Kumar was recommended as a member of the Cauvery Organising Committee.
