TN, PUDUCHERRY MAY RECEIVE THUNDERSHOWERS: MET CENTRE

The Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai has forecasted that Tamil Nadu and the neighbouring Puducherry are likely to receive thundershowers in many parts. Warning of heavy winds in the sea as the southwest monsoon has intensified, the Centre said that the waves may rise up to three metres in the southern coastal regions.
The weather monitoring agency also warned fishermen to stay away from the sea. It also added the districts along the western ghats including Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Theni, Dindigul and Tirunelveli will receive heavy rains for a couple of days.
Parts of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry have been receiving rains due to the southwest monsoon. Dams and rivers in these states are witnessing an increase in the water level.
