In a tweet, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that 10-15 students are being brought down from the mountain near Kurangani in Theni district where a forest fire broke out on Sunday. Reports say, helicopters have also been rushed to the spot and there is struggle in carrying out rescue operations as it is past daytime. Over 20 students were trapped in the forest when the fire broke out.
