The Madras High Court on Monday reportedly refused to pass an interim order quashing the State government’s rule that requires motorists to carry original driving licences. The Chief Justice Indira Banerjee recorded an undertaking given by the State to abstain from demanding original licences till Tuesday, and reportedly refused to extend an interim order passed by a single judge on Friday. Motorists are required to carry their original driving licences from September 6.
