TN MAN'S 6 MONTHS OF SECRET MARRIAGE ENDS; HAPPY LIFE TURNS SAD

The 37-year-old Jayalakshmanan was working as a petrol bunk employee in Paramathi Vellore, Nammakal when he secretly married the 17-year old girl from Karur district in June 2019. The child marriage was forcibly conducted by the girl's Mother Latha, Father Pazahivel and relative Vasantha.

Nallammal, the mother of Jayalakshmanan was worried that she could not get her son married even at the age of 37. While she could not get bride for his son, she met Latha's family and convinced them to get their 17-year-old married to Jayalakshmanan. As per the arrangement the marriage was held in June 2019 without any hindrance.

Jayalakshmanan and the 17-year-old girl were living together for 6 months until few days ago. Meanwhile, the Karur Child helpline received a complaint of Child marriage in the district.The case was handled by Sub Inspector Sathyapriya who visited the girl's home and confirmed the forced marriage to the girl.

In fact the girl had also made a complaint by herself at the police station. Therefore, Jayalakshmanan, Latha, Pazhanivel and Vasantha were arrested by the police. Jayalakshmanan's mother Nallammal was on the run and police are searching for her hideout. Finally Jayalakshmanan's 6 months of secret marriage ended to save the life of a minor girl.
